Endangered
Species
(Offered Tuesdays and Thursdays, for Grades 5-12) Over the course
of the last 4.6 billion years, many different species have appeared
and others have become extinct. This rate of extinction has been
increasing at a tremendous rate over the last two centuries. Students
in this interactive program will look at some of the reasons that
species become extinct, focusing on those most directly related
to human activities.
North-Western
Trail
(Offered Tuesdays and Thursdays) From the plains to the mountains. This fascinating look at the
mid-western
region will help students discover how animals and plants have adapted.
Tropical
Rain Forest
(Offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) Tropical rain
forests are ecosystems of amazing biological diversity...and they
are disappearing at the phenomenal rate of 60-100 acres every minute.
An interactive presentation will examine the problems and issues
surrounding these endangered ecosystems.
